DMCA Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Castello respects intellectual property rights and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This policy outlines how we handle copyright infringement claims and how our takedown services work.

1. How Castello Uses DMCA

Castello acts as an authorised agent on behalf of content creators to identify and remove infringing content from the internet. When we detect unauthorised use of your content, we file DMCA takedown notices with the relevant hosting providers, platforms, and search engines.

2. What a DMCA Takedown Notice Contains

Each takedown notice we file on your behalf includes identification of the copyrighted work, the location of the infringing material, a statement of good faith belief that the use is unauthorised, and a declaration of accuracy under penalty of perjury. Your personal information is protected — notices are filed under Castello's details.

4. Counter-Notifications

If a party believes their content was removed in error, they may file a counter-notification. We will forward any counter-notifications to you and provide guidance on how to respond, including potential legal action if warranted.

5. Repeat Infringers

We track repeat infringement across sites and platforms. For persistent infringers, we escalate enforcement through additional legal channels and work with hosting providers to take more aggressive action.

6. False Claims

Filing false DMCA claims is a serious offence under Section 512(f) of the DMCA. Castello only files takedown notices on behalf of verified rights holders and for content that has been confirmed as infringing. Misuse of our services for filing false claims will result in immediate account termination.

7. Limitations

While we achieve a high success rate, not all takedowns result in content removal. Some jurisdictions and platforms may not comply with DMCA requests. In such cases, we pursue alternative enforcement strategies and keep you informed of progress.
